Isaiah 9:6b

CHRISTMAS’ STRENGTH

If you’re in need of strength this Christmas, turn to Jesus.

(Isaiah 9:6) “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.  And He will be called… Mighty God.”

El Gibbor means:

“God of Strength”

“Strength Hero”

1.                  Jesus Sets Us Free

(Isaiah 12:21) “A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God.”

(Romans 3:23) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

(Romans 6:23) “For the wages of sin is death.”

A.                Sin holds us in bondage away from God.

B.                 Jesus had all our sin laid on Him.

C.                Jesus sets us free from the bondage of all our sin.

2.                  Jesus Meets Our Needs

A.    We never have to worry about the necessities of life.

(Matthew 6:31-34a) “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry…”

B.     Jesus provides for our greatest of needs.

(Jon 14:27) “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.  Before long, the world will not see me any more, but you will se me.”

(John 14:27) “My peace I give you... I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”

3.                  Jesus Guards Our Lives

A.    Jesus is a strong warrior on our behalf.

(Romans 8:37) “We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us!”

B.     We are more than conquerors – through Jesus.
