EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH

Human life is precious to God,

and is never to be used for research.

1.                  Tiny People Are Precious to God

(Luke 1:39-44) At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.  In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!  But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.”

A.    Are these two babies precious to God?

B.     Why are they precious to God?

                                                               i.      ALL tiny people are precious to God.

ii.      Human life begins at CONCEPTION.

2.                  Tiny Cloned People Are Precious to God

(Psalm 139:13-16a) For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body...”

A.    God ALONE creates life.

B.     God ALONE assembles a person’s cells.

C.    Initially, every living person has an “unformed body.”

3.                  All Tiny People Are Too Precious to God to be Used for Research

(Luke 1:39) AT THAT TIME Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea.

A.    How do we feel about harvesting Jesus’ embryonic body for research?

B.     Should we murder any innocent in order to nourish the ill?

C.    (Exodus 20:13) “You shall NOT murder!”

D.    All of us are “tiny people” to God – and yet we are ALL precious to Him.
