IS “THIS” GOD?

We want to know what God is doing when we experience life’s great trials!

(Romans 8:28-29) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.

1.            Is This God’s WORK?

                A.            Is God trying to DO something in my life through this trial I’m facing?

                B.            It all depends on ME.

                C.            God only uses trials in the lives “of those who love Him” (28).

                D.            How can I know if I really love Him?

(John 3:7) “You must be born again.”

(John 14:15) “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.”

2.            Is This God’s WILL?

                A.            Are life’s tragedies God’s will?

                B.            God doesn’t “cause” life’s tragedies!

(James 1:13) God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone.

(James 1:17) Every Good and perfect gift is from [our] Father… who does not change.

                C.            Tragedy is God’s “permissive will,” because for now – He must allow it.

3.            Is This God’s WAY?

(28) We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”

                A.            God uses existing trials to bring about great “good” in my life.

                B.            Everyone has a different definition for “good.”

(29) For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son.

                C.            God uses the trials of life to mold me into the maximum family resemblance to Jesus!

                D.            And THAT is really, really GOOD!
