SAVING LIVES

Helping the Lord save lives is one of our highest callings.

(James 5:19-20) My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

1. The WANDERERS

(19) My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth…

A. These are folks who have trusted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

B. These are folks who have wandered away from the “truth” of Jesus.

C. This is an error that could lead to terrible consequences, including physical death.

2. The PURSUERS

(19) My brother, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back…

A. One brother chooses to wander away from the truth of Jesus.

B. The second one pursues the first one in order to bring him back to the Lord.

3. The RESCUERS

(20) Remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

A. All of us are sinners.

(Romans 3:23) All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

B. Any sinner who walks away from the Lord needs to be restored with the Lord.

C. Anyone who works to restore sinners is doing a holy work indeed.
