TALKING POINTS:

  • We all know of the tragedy in Haiti.
  • We all have a sense of urgency to help the humanitarian effort, but how?
  • Many of us have already donated money for the care and relief cause but wish we could do a little more.
  • Few of us will be able to go to Haiti to help.
  • Buckets of Hope project is a way everyone can help with a personal touch.
  • The food contained in a single bucket will feed a Haitian family for a week.
  • The bucket and zip lock bags will be useable items well beyond when the food is gone.
  • Get any color new 5 gal. bucket with a handle and tight fitting lid.
  • To meet “Customs” requirements Every bucket must be exactly alike with a specific list of items inside. Please follow the detailed instructions carefully. This will ensure that every bucket quickly passes through customs and into the hands of the Haitian people.
  • Place the “designated” food items in bucket according to instructions
  • Get a copy of the Instructions at www.fbcpville.org/haiti.htm
  • Cost - approximately $30 to purchase the materials and bucket.
Also include a $10 cash contribution, placed in an envelope and attached to the lid of the bucket, to offset the cost of transporting the relief buckets to Haiti.
  • If you are not personally able to purchase items and pack the bucket, send a $40 donation per bucket to First Baptist Pflugerville, 306 S. 10th Street, 78660.
